Falling Weight Impact Tester
The FWI, Falling Weight Impact Tester, provides laboratories with a means for assessing the failure of polymers under controlled conditions. The FWI is used to determine the impact resistance of plastics, laminates, paints, lacquers, varnishes, plating and siding. The FWI is inexpensive yet made from a heavy duty construction. Unique specimen clamps and the standard safety shield makes this easy-to-use apparatus safe and durable for many years of reliable testing.

Premium Impact Test Products
In our product line, we offer Basic Impact Testers(BPI), and Advanced Impact Testers(API) and an Automatic Sample Notcher(ASN). These products offer a variety of Izod and Charpy tests to determine the impact strength of standard tension-impact specimens. The Automatic Sample Notcher(ASN) prepares notched specimens per ISO and ASTM specifications for use with the BPI or API testers.

Dart Drop Impact Test Products
A wide variety of Dart Drop Impact Testers is available to meet nearly any user's requirement. A specialized version, the DDI/TE, provides a total energy calculation through measurement of dart velocity before and after impact. The change in velocity due to the impact through the film is used to calculate the total energy and creates the most user-friendly means of calculating impact resistance of films. The Model DDI/TE is shown in the picture at the left.

Plastic Film Test Products
The Plastic Film Test Products group consists of a D1060 Contact Angle Viewer and a D9046 Static Adhesion Tester. The D1060 Contact Angle Viewer quickly determines the relative wettability of non-porous samples relating to adhesion, ink retention and surface treatments. The D9046 measures the static adhesion, known as blocking, which can exist between layers of certain types of plastic films. The Model D9046 is illustrated at the left.

LOI Chamber
Provides a means for quality control and determining the relative flammability of plastic compounds and other materials by calculating the minimum oxygen concentration that will support combustion. Reference Standards ISO 4589 and ASTM D2863.
